So I woke up today, checked my tumblr like I always do. Nothing special popped up, until I scrolled a little further, and saw this request from Ninja.
All I could think was, “Really? This happened again?”
Take a moment and think for a second. Most of us have Facebook accounts for one reason or another. Think about when you get a friend request on Facebook. Do you know the person? Great. Maybe you add them, maybe you don’t. It’s whatever. What if you don’t know the person? Do you add them? No, you don’t.
It weirds me out when I get Facebook friend requests from people I might have 100 mutual friends with, and still not know them. It freaks me out when I get a friend request and I don’t even know the person. All I can think is, “How the hell did this person find me, and who the hell are they?” I imagine most people feel the same way.
I don’t add them, and now you can block those people from sending you friend requests ever again. I’ve done it.
What I don’t understand is how the people that are tracing down the private Facebook accounts of Dan and now Pana, don’t understand how blatantly wrong it is. Seriously, that is their private life, and they have a right to that.
Facebook stalking them could have serious consequences. What if they get in trouble for a leaked photo or a spoiler of some sort? They don’t have to tweet with us, post pictures on their public fan pages, hell they don’t even have to talk to us, but they do. That’s why we love the entire cast so much.
But what if Starz decides to not allow them to respond to tweets? Decides not to let them post pictures from filming anymore? We’d honestly deserve it, especially those people who decided to violated their privacy.
Ninja should not have to be telling us to stop tracking down their private Facebook accounts, because those people who are, shouldn’t be doing it. It’s rude and inconsiderate.
Bottom line. Leave them alone.
I would agree with you… if it wasn’t so easy to get to his private FB page. I don’t think anyone needed to track him or stalk him, he used his private account to comment on pics on Barry’s public page… guess he didn’t realize it… all people had to do was click. But I do agree that it’s stupid for people to go and request to be added, no matter how much he comments with his personal account…
